Remember when roads like Indian Bend closed during heavy rains (except to a few intrepid idiots)? Indian Bend Road was finally improved in 2010, and these five horse gargoyles were added for flood control. Water flows from their mouths and falls at their feet during flash floods. The gargoylish sentinels (cast from aluminum by Charles Wiemeyer Designs) are reminiscent of the former McCormick Arabian Ranch nearby and are up-lit at night. Scottsdale loves horses.
