Scottsdale Police Department is one of the best in the country.  We have a relatively low crime rate, with 60% below the national average in violent crime, and 6% lower in property crime.  Both are trending to be lower in 2012.  Through my Unitown experience, I have met and gotten to know some wonderful members of the police force dedicated to "excellence, initiative, and integrity."  If you have had a negative encounter, it is probably because you were breaking the law.  This picture shows members of the Motor Unit and Mounted Unit, escorting the Scottsdale Charros.  The Scottsdale PD also has a Bike Unit for Old Town and the green belts, and a SWAT team, which we hopefully won't need.   Oh, and don't you love the Scottsdale Old Town sign?
