The public is welcome to a free breakfast with Mayor Jim Lane at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Grand Opening of the new Tom's Thumb trailhead tomorrow at 7:30 Thursday, October 18.  This begins four days of events at the McDowell Sonoran Reserve celebrating five miles of new multi-use trails, including access to the Marcus Landslide Interpretative Trail. (see blog tomorrow).  There is new parking for 200 cars and 10 horse trailers, but no water, so bring plenty of your own.  Friday's even it guided horseback rides, Saturday is volunteer led hikes, rock climbing demonstrations and scavenger hunt, and Sunday Stewards will lead a 5-mile mountain bike ride at 7:45 a.m.
