Bemis Bowl 8 a.m. Thanksgiving Day

Tomorrow, at 8 a.m. at the Copper Ridge fields at 10101 E. Thompson Peak, the second annual Bemis Bowl will be held for students and alumni of Scottsdale's Notre Dame Preparatory High School.  NDP is celebrating its 10th year as a private college prep high school in North Scottsdale, sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Phoenix.  NDP has grown to 875 students, with a rigorous curriculum, including their mission is to teach the whole child, mind, body and spirit.  NDP students not only have to have 28 credits to graduate (Scottsdale requires 22), but they have to complete 125 community service hours as well.  One project they have begun is to honor Scott Bemis, their beloved football and girl's soccer coach, who unfortunately died of cancer in January, with a flag football game, as well as a Powder Puff game.  Last Thanksgiving, the Bemis Bowl raised $25,000 for his family to offset expenses.  This tradition continues, with proceeds going toward an education fund for his children.  Go Team Bemis!!
