After reading the biography of Frank Lloyd Wright, Heloise Crista was drawn to Taliesin to study his philosophy and become part of the Taliesin Fellowship. For the first years, she mainly was involved with dance and costume design as part of the Taliesin festivals, but made this bronze bust of Frank in 1956. By 1978, she realized her dream as a sculptor. At Taliesin West, her bronze sculptures fill the sculpture garden with abstract designs, many showing her background in dance, showing movement and fluidity. She also works in Cor-teen steel and fabricated sheet metal. Her art is available for sale at Taliesin West and other galleries, but the public can enjoy them at Taliesin West or at the Frank Lloyd Wright spire at the Promenade. (See blog Apr. 28th of Frank Lloyd Wright spire.)
