Celebrate 60 years of Western tradition in Old Town Scottsdale today starting at 10 a.m. Remember days gone by with traditional entries such as the Charro's riders, high school bands and floats. Look for a Scottsdale High School float, where alumni get a chance to reminisce about their beloved school with no campus. And as a special feature of Scottsdale's longest running event, the after party, Trail's End, will continue this year into the evening with bands, car show, food vendors, kid's play area and beer garden. The Parada del Sol is a great way for the family to enjoy the heritage and history of Scottsdale, a return to a simpler time. And, except for kid's rides, the entire event is free. Bands include CrossRoad, James Parks, A Boy Named Sioux, and Sour Diesel Trainwreck, all with a western flare. This nonprofit event and participating philanthropic groups contribute thousands of dollars back into the community through various charity donations. Enjoy a great day and look forward to the rodeo Mar. 1-3. (See Parada del Sol blog of Mar. 3)
