The galloping mustang wall inside the Mustang Library is a bas relief made by artist Ken Williams as the first piece of art commissioned by the Public Art Program for the City of Scottsdale in 1991. Before I realized that each library was named after a type of horse, I am embarrassed to admit that I thought the Arabian Library was about Arabian horses, which is a notch less naïve that those who think it is about Arabia. Scottsdale loves horses.
