Salt River Fields Forever - Baseball Spring Training

Photo by Tim Roberts for Google Earth Saltriverfields.com
The Pima-Maricopa Indian Community developed this 140 acre facility in partnership with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies.  The main stadium seats 11,000 and sits on Pima/101 and Indian Bend in Scottsdale with gorgeous views of Camelback, Mummy Mountain, Four Peaks, Red Mountain, the McDowells, and the Superstition Mountains.  Salt River Fields is the first Major League baseball facility to be built on Indian land in the nation.  Here you can see the 12 practice fields went in before parking.  Today, 3/25, the Rockies play the Reds at 1 p.m, and tomorrow the Diamondbacks play the Cubs.  Temps - low 80's.  Take me out to the ballgame. . .
