I love Scottsdale, but apparently so do many wild animals. My friend, Linda, found this bobcat hanging out on her fence right up against her house!!! She often lets her dog out to sniff for bunnies, but I think this fellow enjoys the same pastime. Bobcats are "crepuscular," (my word of the day) meaning active during dawn and dusk. Bobcats weigh between 30-40 lbs. when full grown, making them the smallest of the lynx family. Their territory ranges over 7 miles a night, so this fellow may live in the McDowells. Fortunately, bobcats prefer rabbits and rats over cats and dogs, and seldom attack anything over 12 lbs. However, wild animals and do not always follow set "rules."
