Yucca bloom from April to July with beautiful waxy, white bell-shaped flowers. This yucca in my yard looks up to the nearby blooming ocotillo. A member of the agave family, yucca were used by Native Americans who made baskets, sandals and mats from the leaves. Roots can be used for soap, as they form a nice lather. Maybe the name could be changed from yuck-ca to lovely-ca.
