The horse trails throughout Scottsdale, especially those shown here on Cactus Road, show how much Scottsdale loves horses. In addition to the horse trails on major streets, Scottsdale has several horse parks such as Stonegate Equestrian Park, Mescal Park, Pinnacle Peak, McDowell Mountain Regional Park, Cave Creek Regional Park, Spur Cross, and McDowell Sonoran Preserve alone has 60 miles of trails. Horseback riding is available at several private ranches, as well as on the unimproved areas of the canals. Universal courtesy requires that horses be given the right-of-way, and speak softly. (Bikers are to yield to all other trail users.)
