Another great example of Scottsdale's Mid-Century Modern style of architecture is the 1966 Glass and Garden Community Church on MacDonald Road West of Pima. E. Logan Campbell designed this circular church as a symbol of eternity with no beginning and no end. The windows bring light to the plants that fill the atrium. The dome of the church is 6-inch-thick concrete, cast in one day. Parking lots surround the church as it was designed to be a "drive-in" with drive-in theater speakers broadcasting the service, so that members could just relax in their cars. Pastor Floyd Goulooze believed that “For some people the front door of a church is the barrier.” (quote from Modern Phoenix) For more pictures, go to: Modern Phoenix, Glass and Garden Church
