Last night, I had a very posh Scottsdale theater experience at the iPic Theater in the Scottsdale Quarter. When you enter the lobby, you know the experience will not be typical for a movie theater. First, seats are reserved on-line so there is no need for a long line. Second, there is no smell of popcorn, in fact you have to really look to find the source. Once inside, a variety of dining choices are available, beginning with the Salt Lounge, where mixologist Adam Seger creates great fresh seasonal cocktails. Dine at Tanzy Mediterranean Restaurant or Tanzy Express, which offers gourmet choices including great sliders and flatbreads. Try a wine dispenser (shown above)! Order food and drinks and take them into the theater or order from a waiter directly at your premium seats. And the seats . . . very lazy-boyesque, with wide seat cushions and raised foot rests. Trays act as armrests or spin in front for dining, similar to airline trays. You also get a cozy blanket in the premium seats when the air conditioner blows too cold. Even the bathrooms complete this perfectly luxurious experience, as they look more like resort restrooms. Cine Capri may have a better projection and sound system, but you cannot beat iPic for luxurious decor and comfort.
