Beginning in 1995, Carlsbad Tavern has been serving up Hispanic dishes with a New Mexico flare in its aptly decorated "Bat Cave." Bat fans can join a bat club, as well as like the Facebook Fan Page to get great deals. The family owned restaurant has a fabulous patio, surrounded with the bat grotto or "Guano Canal." Because of the tall, thick stucco walls, it is one of the few places to dine al fresco where the drone of traffic is blocked out. From Habanero Cheese burgers, adovada, and crab-stuffed poblanos, the kick of hot chili enhances the perfect New Mexican cuisine. If you can't make it to the Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico, try the Carlsbad Tavern for a treat.
