Halloween 2012 is over, and our Scottsdale neighborhood is happier than ever. The success of last night's block party shows that front porches and patios are the perfect way to bring a neighborhood together. Block parties strengthen the community by allowing us to meet new neighbors, welcome returning neighbors, and see some who have been hermits indoors for the summer. Also, our HOA hosted a block party in the greenbelt enjoyed by all sorts of little pirates and princesses getting ready for their big night of trick or treating. A highlight of last night was a short concert by amazing local DMHS talent!! The City of Scottsdale would like to help any neighborhood to host a block party by providing the tools you may need to be successful such as traffic cones, sound systems, ice chests, coffee makers, pop-up canopies, icebreakers and game ideas, and even police, fire or recreation staff with 30 days notice.
