Chaparral Park in Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt

Photos by Lisa E White
Of all the parks along the Indian Bend Wash greenbelt, I most often go to Chaparral park because of the walking park that encircles the lake where I can watch birds, fishermen, walkers and bikers.  I have seen many water birds such as Snow and Ross's geese, Great Blue Herons, Green Herons, ducks and even a Belted Kingfisher.  Most weekends, a group practices Tai Chi, reminding me to slow down and enjoy the journey.  Ample parking, ballfields, swimming pool, and dog park (See Blog of May 9th) make this a great place to walk your dog or enjoy a family picnic.
