Scottsdale Books

Two books that should be on the shelf of everyone who loves Scottsdale are these two that I have used many times in the last 300 days for facts and information about Scottsdale.  Joan Fudala and Doug Sydnor both have served on the Scottsdale Sister Cities Board of Directors with me over the years.  Joan is an expert on Scottsdale and Arizona history, and has also written a book called Golf in Scottsdale.  Scottsdale architect, Doug Sydnor, has designed a beautiful home on Camelback Mountain as well as the most recent Scottsdale library, the Appaloosa.  He has also authored another book, Plugger: The Architecture of Reginald Sydnor, about his father's architecture from 1952-1994, much of which can be seen here in Scottsdale such as the 1957 Scottsdale Motorola building and the 1958 addition to the legendary Valley Ho Hotel.  These books are available at local stores such as Walgreens and Barnes and Noble, but also through Amazon.com and the publisher's website:  www.arcadiapublishing.com.
