Bejeweled Fountains

A friend of mine and I both took photos of this neighborhood frozen fountain, a vision that shocks anyone who imagines Scottsdale's warm climate.  Scottsdale is in the middle of a week of freezing nights, down to 24 degrees.  We are advised to run the fountains, allow faucets to drip, and cover sensitive plants (which usually means the plants are tropical transplants as desert plants can endure cold nights.)  Here are tips from the City of Scottsdale:  Cold Weather Tips
