On March 18 in this blog, I showed pictures of the new kids born on our block. I still love walking past these goats, sheep, chickens and horses every morning. I miss the donkey, Tiggy. Our lives are sometimes so removed from the farm that we forget the charms of these animals. Children know. They are drawn to them, and love petting zoos. As our dog-walking group walks by on these early dark mornings, many times we catch all of the animals asleep, even the rooster. One of the golden retrievers in our group loves saying good morning to the chickens. (Sorry if any hens were laying - oops!!) But Jake awakens the rooster, who every day, every single day, crows at him when we are just out of harm's way, getting in the last word. It has become a morning ritual. This is the Parada del Sol week, so this blog is dedicated to a few Western gems still remaining in Scottsdale.
