Hands Off - Canal Convergence 2020

Spectrum by Olivier Ratsi

Scottsdale Arts has found a way to continue their fabulous Canal Convergence this year, despite the pandemic, by offering a "hands off" version of interaction.  No big crowds.  No big concerts.  No food booths.  However, you can still enjoy these artworks designed with light from 5-9 PM weekdays, and 5-10 PM on Friday and Saturday from November 6-15, 2020.  Download the Hoverlay app (info here) to interact with each artwork in different ways, remotely.  Some works will only be visible with the app through augmented virtual reality (think Pokeman Go).  Spectrum (top) by Olivier Ratsi is found at the waterfront at the Marshall Bridge, Hidden Garden (middle) by Koros Design is at the Scottsdale Artists School, and Together! Responding to COVID 19 (bottom) by OGE Group is found between the Performing Arts Center and Scottsdale Health Osborn Campus.   Other artworks are found around town, many of which can be enjoyed through a "drive-by".  However, if you get out and walk around, some permanent art pieces have QR codes to give them augmented virtual reality components.  Enjoy the art, as well as some virtual music, and a dance performance in a parking lot!!  Many creative plans to keep us safe while enjoying this annual event can be found at Canal Convergence 2020.
