Leash laws in Scottsdale protect our neighborhoods, but the city provides five off-leash dog parks for dogs to run free. Horizon Park is off of 100th Street and Thompson Peak, but Chaparral Dog Park at McDonald and Hayden is also nice because they have areas that separate shy dogs from active dogs. We have met some of our greatest friends in Scottsdale through our golden retriever, Bailey. The City of Scottsdale has many programs intended to foster good neighborly relations such as the Block Party program, providing free equipment to block off your street for a block party (cones, tents, coolers!!!)
