Zoolights

Photos by John Calvin
Scottsdale is lucky to border the Phoenix Zoo at Papago Park off of McDowell and 64th which has Zoolights, a holiday event from Nov. 22 to January 6th from 6-10 p.m. every night.  Animals light up throughout the zoo with 3.6 million lights.  This year, a music in motion light show performs over the lake to the music of "Wizards of Winter" by TransSiberian Orchestra synchronized to 15,000 lights.  Camel rides are available, and wagon rides take you to Jengo the talking giraffe.  The entire evening of entertainment is $10 weeknights and $14 for weekends.  The only sad part is you don't see real animals . . . but the illuminated replicas are beautiful.Zoolights
